Barberton to Canal Fulton. On Friday, June 5, 2015, the "Magic Mile" Trailhead was officially opened. One year later, this trail was recognized as a gold-medal winner, by the Greater Cleveland Trails and Greenways Conference. The path connects Lake Anna Park to the Towpath. Hikers then make their way to the historic city of Canal Fulton.
The 11-mile walk follows the Tuscarawas River. When you get to Canal Fulton, you must visit “Deliciously Different Fudge” (136 North Canal Street) and sample their famous “Canal Mud”.
Alternatively, you can board the St. Helena III canal boat that is pulled by two Percheron horses. It departs from the Port of Canal Fulton in St. Helena Heritage Park for a one hour ride down the Ohio & Erie Canal. A historian on board provides information on the history of the canal, the boat, and the area.
